After becoming the official title sponsor of the MC Federation’s 2 stroke British championship in 2009 oil giants Fuchs-Silkolene and the MCF are pleased to announce that they will be continuing with their support of the series for 2010. Following on from a great year, the official 2 stroke British championship looks set to be better still for 2010 as all eight rounds of the championship will be incorporated into the new look Red Bull Pro Nationals.
The two day ‘festival’ events are set to take UK motocross to higher plain, not just with the motocross community but also the general public. With live bands scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday, a motocross try out area, VIP hospitality, a FMX tour and of course brilliant racing as the Fuchs-Silkolene 2 stroke British championship and Red Bull Pro National and Elite Youth Cup racers battle it out on perfectly groomed circuits.
Not only are Fuchs-Silkolene the title sponsorship partners of the 2 stroke British championship they’ll also be contributing the Red Bull Elite Youth Cup by offering holeshot product awards at each round of the championship as well as for all of the 2 stroke races.
The Fuchs-Silkolene 2 stroke British championship will run with a different format for 2010 to fit in the action packed weekend programme. Their championship racing will start on the Saturday with the Open class and their three championship races, and then on Sunday the 125cc racers get their chance to shine. Each championship class will have a line up of 44 behind the start gate per event and they’ll very much be part of the show like the pro and youth riders. Something Fuchs-Silkolene’s UK Marketing Manager Richard Barrett is obviously pleased about “The MCF has without doubt raised the bar significantly in the MX world. The events focus on what’s important – the racing – whilst at the same time making sure the fans get a great weekend of action. Fuchs-Silkolene is proud to continue working with the MCF team and we’re looking forward to many exciting races in 2010.”
MCF Chairman Matt Bates is obviously delighted that the partnership is continuing and growing stronger saying “2 Strokes aren’t going anyway in a hurry, in fact they are very much here to stay. They are really important to us at the MCF, after all, it’s the series that we’ve cut our teeth on and helped us establish ourselves in motocross in the first place. Obviously we want to raise the profile of two stroke racing and to do that we feel we have to give the championship equal billing to our Red Bull Nationals and Elite Youth Cup and give all the racers the same media attention. With Fuchs-Silkolene continued support we are able to do that and take the championship and our partnership from strength to strength, so naturally I’m really pleased.”
