After Ricky’s DNF in Daytona he felt he had some unfinished business. He wanted to show the fans he could put the 2 Stroke in the main, so he’s doing it again this weekend in New Orleans.

The AMCA’s Wulfsport British Masters Motocross Championship has added a 2 Stroke class.

The Putoline Two-Stroke Masters made it’s debut a few weeks ago. Like the 2 Stroke races and series popping up here in the states, it went very well.

On March 24th, the inaugural 2-Stroke Spring Cup will be held at Cycle Ranch Motorsports Park in Floresville, TX. The event will be the first of its kind in southern Texas with over 30 race classes for two-strokes and another four classes that pit Four Strokes against two strokes. With over $10,000 in cash and awards & prizes for all riders from companies like Scott USA, Wiseco , Risk Racing, Six12 Suspension, PMP Sprockets and realMotocross. Not one rider will go away empty handed. Prizes range from massages from Whispering Pines a local spa to parts and motocross gear.

Over the weekend Ryan Smith and Ricky Renner took on the challenge of attempting to qualify for Daytona SX. On their two strokes. Renner on a YZ 125 and Ryan Smith on a borrowed, bone stock YZ 250.

How did they do? Renner managed to qualify for the night show in 22nd place. Out of 60+ 250f’s that showed up. During his heat race he was holding down 8th place, until a mechanical problem took him out. I have heard people saying “That’s what he get’s for riding a 2 Stroke”. How about this.. Roughly 25 bikes DNS or DNF, guess what 24 of them were.. Here’s the best one I’ve heard.. “He was running an Athena 144 kit, he had an unfair advantage” Haha ok. Still being over 100cc’s down is completely unfair, what was I thinking? Whatever he was running between the cases, he rode it like a beast and he gets huge props from us for that. Fun Fact: His qualifing time was faster than  18+ of the 450′s that made it to the night show. Yes.. 450′s.

During the annual International Season Openings Motocross in Valence France, French Enduro- and former MX1 works-Kawasaki rider Antoine Meo showed the world again what’s still possible with two strokes.

 Antoine was already aware of what is possible because he already was the last rider to score WorldChampionship points when he stole the last points of the year aboard a 125cc Husqvarna in the Italian GP. That wass until again in the final and Italian GP last year top star Ken Roczen gave a superb demonstration of a two-stroke, riding his works SXS 125cc KTM into top5 positions among the 250cc works 4strokes.
