MotocrossQuébec.ca 2stroke Fest
It is under perfect skies that took place the first annual MotocrossQuébec.ca 2stroke Fest. About 40 2 stroke motocross fans from across the province of Quebec, Canada got together last week end on the picturesque circuit of St-Marcel de l’Islet. We were there to cover the event and report to those who could not be there.
The most anxious arrived early Friday afternoon. A cozy village built up around a central fire place. As usual with MotocrossQuebec.ca’s Ride Days, the party and no-pressure atmosphere brought smiles on the lips of everybody involved, regardless of their skill level on the track.
Husaberg adds Two-Stroke to the 2011 Model Line-up
As they say a photo is worth a 1,000 words. here is the official video from the Husaberg factory.
A quote from the video is; “…two-stroke markets are growing and Husaberg wants to be on the top of the line in the racing enduro segment. So it’s quite simple. we’re adding some two-strokes to the line and we’re doing it in a really good Husaberg way.”
The Straight Dope: Which Handles Better, A Two-Smoke or a Thumper?
Believe it or not, there is more than one way around a track.
There was a time when the only people who rode four-strokes were grizzled old prospectors tooling around the Southwestern desert (And some guy named Scott Summers) No more! The four-stroke has replaced the two-stroke. The two-stroke had been the bread an butter machine of the last 40 years. The vast majority of riders racing today learned how to ride on a 50cc, 85cc or 125cc two-stroke. Then when they decided to make the step up to the big time, they switched to a valve-and-cam machine.
Can a Two Stroke run at 200:1 fuel/oil Mixture?
When someone says they can run their two stroke at 200:1 the first thing that happens is that people’s eyes go wide and they say “Huh?” It happens every time the Project Two 50 team mentions they are running a 200:1 mixture. Of course there are many that are skeptical.
How can anyone possibly use such a lean fuel/oil mixture?

2011 Yamaha Two-Stroke Line-up?
These photos were posted on a few different web sites. If these are correct, it looks as though Yamaha has made very few changes to their bikes for 2011.
Still it’s great that a major manufacturer continues to sell two-stroke motocross bikes.
Justin Carter – YZ250 Hop-Up
My mission was to build the most effective, do it all 2 stroke race bike that I could. I used only the best aftermarket parts and services available and here is what I ended up with.
I purchased a new 2009 Yamaha yz250 from Colorado Powersports, I chose a 2 stroke due to there reliability and low maintenance cost and a Yamaha because in my opinion the best of the 2 strokes still being made. And here it what I did to the bike.
