On Saturday May 12th, DEP Pipes brought us out some pipes to test.

Our support rider Todd Weindel pulled off his Pro Circuit system to give the DEP set-up a try. The test was done on his 2004 Suzuki RM 267 with a Raw DEP pipe and full length silencer.

Long term Maico enthusiast and business man Steve Gallichan is aiming to put the new bikes firmly on the map in New Zealand after securing the distribution rights for the country with Maico International.

Based in New Plymouth, Steve is a devotee of the legendary German marque with numerous vintage models to his name, most of which get to feel the New Zealand dirt on a regular basis racing in various classic motocross events.

Speaking earlier in the week, global distributors Maico International told us: “Maicos Brand awareness is growing steadily around the world, and unlike almost any other, the name evokes a passion and enthusiasm which is evident with a majority of the companies who contact us regarding distribution, Steve Gallichan illustrates this ethos perfectly and we are pleased to welcome him onboard.

Taking a straightforward and hands-on approach to marketing and promotion Maico N.Z. Limited will be getting the bikes out on the track in a series of promotional days giving everyone the opportunity to see and sample them at first hand.

Ensuring that the owners of older models are also kept well looked after, Maico N.Z. Limited will also be supplying parts for all the old bikes right back to the early 1970’s.
