Nathen LaPorte and Club950 rolled into Millville, MN Wednesday afternoon to prep for press day at Spring Creek MX. Thursday was a perfect opportunity to get some practice laps under his belt, set up the bike’s suspension, and fine tune the jetting. Nathen had a blast and we would like to thank MXsports for having him there.
First practice on Saturday morning the track was prime. Nathen charged hard and turned out a good lap time right away of 2:04, just a few seconds off the top guys placing him in 11th for group B. Nathen was the first one out for second timed practice. Noticing the lines had changed dramatically and being pushed by a factory Honda rider from Japan, Laporte felt great on the bike and was still consistent with his lap times of 2:04. Unfortunately he was still seconds off qualifying and took a trip to the Consolation Race.
Starting the race in about 20th, Nathen made his way up to about 13th the first lap. Hammering down, he set out to pick more riders off. In his best finish yet, Nathen ended the Consolation in 7th, just 3 spots off qualifying. Again another week of improvement from our Rookie Nathen! Our goal is for him to qualify before our seasons over, he will have one last chance when our other riders join him for Unadilla in just two weeks.
We would like to thank Josh Brehm for his wrenching skills and all the supporters of Club 950 and everyone that waved the orange flag to cheer on Nathen. And thank you to all our sponsors that make racing possible! See you in 2 weeks for our final round at Unadilla!
Thanks to all of our sponsors for making this possible! If your brand would like to get involved with our Pro MX effort, Contact Us.
